The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency reports that a new drug-sniffing dog joined the crew and on Tuesday the dog sniffed its way to find 477-pounds of marijuana.

The drugs were discovered in an isolated area off the highway in Jacumba, just 75 miles east of San Diego. The agency came upon nine duffel bags filled with drugs. This area is prime for drug traffickers smuggling drugs across the border into the U.S.

The new addition to the crew, is a 2-year-old male German shepherd with a keen nose.

Agents successfully took two suspects into custody. The two illegal immigrants are suspected to be the ones responsible for bringing the drugs into the U.S.

About $380,00 worth of marijuana was found.
