Private investigator hopes to find missing Amber Dubois
In hopes of finding the missing teen, Amber Dubois, a San Diego resident, the family has brought a private investigator who has much experience in local missing-children cases to the into the investigation.
Along with the private investigator, the FBI is also “providing investigative assistance” to Escondido police, said Darrell Foxworth, an FBI representative.
The girl of 14-years-old was last seen on Feb. 13 on her way to Escondido High School. People have reported that she has been seen since on several instances, one in particular occurred on Sunday night in a northern Escondido neighborhood that caused police to investigate the area for two days. Although there have been multiple reports that Amber was spotted, the family does not believe they are believable. Police report that in contrast the person who said they saw Amber was sure it was indeed her.
Police are investigating the case as if it were a kidnap but they are not ruling out the possibility that the girl ran away.
“We have no indication that she has been abducted,” said Lt. Bob Benton.
Also a member of the investigation is private investigator Bill Garcia, who has been a part of numerous high-profile cases in the area, has agreed to give his efforts to try and find Amber including helping to bring public attention to the matter.
Maurice Dubois, Amber’s father, resides in Orange County where Amber usually lives over the weekend and made it known he was thankful towards the Escondido police and all that they have done to try and find Amber in a news conference on Friday.
Maurice Dubois states that their family firmly believes Amber was kidnapped because she is not the type of girl to run away from home.
