Second suspect arrested at the border for death of USC student
Agents at the border between U.S. and Mexico arrested another person on Friday suspected of being connected to the hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a University of Southern California student and a second accident that took place in Los Angeles last month which left another severely injured, authorities stated.
Officials took hold of Josue Luna, 32, around 5:30 p.m. while he was attempting to get into the United States at the entrance in Ysidro when agents checking his I.D. found that Los Angeles police had placed a search warrant looking for the man, Officer April Harding reported.
Luna was taken to the Los Angeles jail under suspicion of involvement in the hit-and-run incident. He was let out of jail yesterday after matching a bail set at $50,000.
According to police, Luna was a passenger in the car that hit and killed the USC student, Adrianna Bachan, 18, and left Marcus Garfinkle, 19, with critical injuries, while the two friends were crossing the street by their University on March 29.
