Customs agents took two men into custody after they stopped them in their motorboat a few miles away from Mission Bay yesterday under suspicion of having about on 400 pounds of marijuana on board.

The men were arrested around 1:15 p.m., reported Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The agents attached their boat to the motorboat and towed it to Shelter Island and there they looked inside, Mack stated. During their search they discovered 376 pounds of pot, worth $150,000 if it were to be sold on the streets, she stated.

Agents from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection marine unit intercepted the men on their way, Mack said.

Both of the men were U.S. citizens, one of which was 48-years-old and the other 51-years-old, she added.
