Controlled burns at Camp Pendleton
Controlled burns are to take place at Camp Pendleton as part of fire training for the Marines, and officials want to warn those who live around the area to not be alarmed by the smoke.
Federal, state and local agencies will all be a part of the training that will start today and continue well into Friday afternoon.
According to base officials, the training that will last a week uses realistic and live fire situations.
Controlled burns are supposed to take place in the eastern part of the base and will possibly be seen from the area nearby.
