Children’s camp infected with swine flu, takes two lives
Swine flu took another two lives from San Diego residents and broke out at a children’s camp in Julian.
Last week, county health officials reported that the fatal disease aided in the death of a 50-year-old woman on June 29, six days after she was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital in National City to be treated for intense flu symptoms.
A 36-year-old man also passed away after he received the virus. The man, who also had other health problems along with the disease, passed away on July 4.
A minimum of 27 asthmatic children who were campers at two American Lung Association camps in Julian and Livermore in Northern California were also infected with the virus, the organization wrote in a letter informing guardians. On Wednesday the total of children infected went up to 89. Some parents stated tat their kids were not given accurate treatment for their flu symptoms while at the camp.
