Minister admits to sexual assault of young boys in three cases
A man who was both a minister and music teacher, admitted he was guilty of child molestation and was sent to serve 17 years and four months in jail on Tuesday afternoon.
The 48-year-old, Jimmie “Xray” Robinson Jr., Los Angeles resident, was taken into custody in April after a boy informed police in September that he had been sexually assaulted.
He entered a guilty plea, admitting to three felony child abuse charges in three different cases with three boys. In two of the cases the boys were 14-years-old and in the other one was 15-years-old. The first initial abuses occurred in San Diego and the third in El Cajon.
He was introduced to all three boys through church events in which he volunteered as a mentor, officials stated.
Judge Peter Deddeh set a hearing date scheduled a hearing on the issue of restitution payments for Sept. 4.
Jimmie worked as a volunteer mentor for boys in both the San Diego and Riverside areas. A DNA test revealed that he was guilty in each case, officials stated. He was taken into custody while at Living Word Faith Ministries on Market Street in downtown San Diego by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force.
El Cajon police officials reported that during his arrest, Robinson took advantage of his position in the church to use it to get close to young and troubled boys.
