Man strikes friend in his attempt to park
A 79-year-old man was critically hurt in downtown San Diego on Monday after he was hit by his 75-year-old friend who mistook the gas pedal for the brake and struck his friend, San Diego police reported.
A little before twelve, the 75-year-old driver dropped off his passengers and was trying to park by the intersection of Sixth Avenue and F Street when his foot accidentally hit the gas. The vehicle struck one of the passengers, who was right by the car.
The victim was injured with a fractured skull and was transported to the hospital, police reported.
