A 19-year-old man was taken custody early Thursday in Chollas View after a woman accused him of tracking her into her apartment and sexually assaulted her.

The 26-year-old woman reported to officers that the man entered through her unbolted door right after she had just got back to her home and threatened her with a gun to go to the bedroom around 10:30 p.m. at her Grantville apartment located on Vandever Avenue near Mission Gorge Road. When they reached the room he demanded that she undress, reported San Diego Lt. Rick O’Hanlon.

The woman’s housemates were home at the time of the incident but did not report hearing or seeing anything out of the usual.

After the attack, the assaulter then took the woman to a back alley located about a block away from the apartment.

“It is unknown what was going to happen at that point,” stated O’Hanlon.

The man took off with the victim’s car keys and demanded that she run away. She was not hurt.

Officers spread out across the area looking for the man.

Police asked a trolley security officer to post a description of the assaulter at all the trolley stations, and within a few minutes they got a report of a man who matched the description at the station located on Euclid Avenue near Market Street.

Officers ordered a K9 unit to come to the scene and arrested the man at gunpoint and took the man into custody while armed with guns about 1 a.m., police said.

Londrea Raymond was taken into custody under suspicion of kidnapping, robbery, burglary and sexual assault. O’Hanlon said Raymond, who supposedly lived in Tierrasanta, was searched and found to have possessions of the woman on him, but he did not take the woman’s car.

Investigators are still working to see if he is connected to any other sexual assaults in the area. They are using his DNA to see if he matches up to other incidents.
