Two masked robbers steal ATM from restaurant
Two robbers wearing masks and gloves broke into the back door of an Italian restaurant Thursday and left with the restaurant’s ATM machine, police reported.
The thieves worked their way through a back door of the La Bella Pizza restaurant located on Third Avenue near G Street a little before 5:30 a.m. and then broke the lock on an ATM machine placed in the center of the restaurant, Chula Vista police Lt. Fritz Reber stated.
They transported a part of the machine and loaded it onto a black truck and drove away.
According to a description of the vehicle, the truck has out of state or Baja plates, a chrome toolbox in the bed of the truck, a large white sticker on the driver’s side rear window and a red rectangular sticker in the center of the rear window.
Police are watching surveillance video, Reber stated.
