A 1-year-old child was taken to the hospital for treatment on Tuesday night after the family’s pit bull went after and harmed the child.
The Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies arrived at the resident’s home located on Berryhill Drive in San Marcos.
Details regarding the child and its state were not given right away.
A bank account has been set up for donations to the family of a Poway postal worker who passed away after he was severely attacked by a Rottweiler.

Her husband, Hao Yun “Eddie” Lin, 33, passed away nine days after being chased and attacked by a dog while covering a shift for a fellow co-worker on an Oceanside mail route. It is reported that he fell and his head struck the pavement on May 25, resulting in severe head trauma.
His death is still to be looked into further by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Oceanside police.
