Armed carjacker takes man’s SUV, wallet and cell phone
A man armed with a gun took a man’s SUV in the south San Diego area yesterday morning, police reported.
The driver was traveling home around 5 a.m. when an armed man approached him while he was stopped at a stop sign on Imperial Avenue and 54th Street in Emerald Hills, police stated. The carjacker entered the vehicle and demanded that the man drive him where he wanted.
On Hanna Street, by 54th Street, the carjacker grabbed the driver’s wallet and cell phone, demanded that he get out of the car and took off, police reported.
The SUV he stole is a 2001 gray Jeep Grand Cherokee. The man who took the car was said to be a black man, in his 30’s, and dressed in a black jacket and blue pants, San Diego police stated.
