Suspect in strangling sought
Sheriff’s investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in order to locate a man thought to be responsible for beating and strangling the mother of his child Thursday.
The attack took place in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day at the 29-year-old woman’s home located in Rancho San Diego, sheriff’s officials reported.
The suspect, Francisco McCrary, 37, attacked her and choked her to the point of unconscious. Once she returned to consciousness, McCrary then forced her and her three kids to stay and would not allow them to dial police.
He then demanded that she drive him to a La Mesa trolley stop, where he exited the car and took off running.
She was transported to a hospital to receive medical aide and is expected to survive.
Investigators are looking for McCrary, a recorded Linda Vista gang member who is known as “Capone.” He is wanted for charges of assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and child cruelty.
He is said to be a Latino male, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about where he is is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200.
