DA takes over Busby fundraiser arrests
The District Attorney’s Office is now in charge of overseeing an investigation into the interruption of a Francine Busby political fundraiser, which ended with two of her supporters being taken into custody at a home in Encinitas.
District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis announced on Wednesday that her office will look over the investigation done by the Sheriff’s Department and decide whether Shari Barman, 60, and Pam Morgan, 62 are authorized to be arrested.
Busby talked with Sheriff Bill Gore Thursday and requested that he make public the 011 tape that attracted deputies to the fundraiser. Gore denied her request and said that it is a component of an investigation within the department going on right now that looks at the behavior of a sheriff’s deputy who was sent to check on a noise complaint.
Busby, 58, is working for her party to be nominated to run in the 2010 campaign for the the 50th Congressional District seat held by Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Carlsbad.
