Man arrested for threats and child pornography
Sheriff’s officials report that they took a 43-year-old man from Fallbrook into custody on Thursday after he was charged with possession of child pornography and making threats against his alienated wife.
Todd David Norton was taken into custody at a rented home he was living in located on De Luz Road near Sandia Creek Drive. He is being detained in jail with a bail set at $50,000.
The investigation started when Norton’s wife informed officials that she had left her husband and started a divorce process after she saw him looking at child pornography on his home computer, stated sheriff’s Detective Dan Laibach.
The woman reported to officials that Norton had been calling her and leaving threatening and harassing voice messages and that he had said he would “shoot up the house” if she left with and raised their 4-year-old son.
Police carried out a thorough search of Norton’s home, and discovered downloaded videos and pictures from sites known to contain child pornography, including movies and photos of children in sexual events. The computer was taken by officials and will be looked at in more detail, Laibach stated.
