Judge drops court order

The judge examining a case that he decided was wrongfully ended regarding the county Office of Education and Superintendent Randolph Ward ordered that the contempt-of-court order against the man be dropped, claiming that layers who were charging for the order did not adhere to correct rules and regulations.

Judge Steven R. Denton also stated that attorneys for previous claims coordinator Rodger Hartnett were “hopelessly vague” in explaining how the superintendent did not follow the court’s earlier decisions.

Orders to show cause are “essentially criminal proceedings that require strict compliance with procedures,” Denton stated.

Ward was given an order to reveal proof of why he should not be held in contempt for not following  Denton’s previous decisions that Hartnett be given his job back and also get paid.

Hartnett, who was fired in 2007, argues that he was fired after he was skeptical towards the office regarding billing processes. He reported yesterday that his attorneys are going to place a contempt order once again.
