Man enters not guilty plea to credit card stealing
A 34-year-old man who has been charged for theft of credit cards at multiple San Diego restaurants and using them to purchase gift cards has entered a not guilty plea to the Superior Court to felony charges.
Christopher Andrew Glasby has been charged with four counts of illegally stealing other people’s information and using their identity to purchase items and 12 counts of commercial burglary. If he is found guilty for the charges as a whole, he could receive a sentence to serve up to 13 years in jail.
Glasby is suspected of entering restaurants of going into restaurants and asking for an application, pretending to be interested in getting a job. After he makes an employee busy with his request, he would take their purses and steal the credit cards out of them and use them to purchase gift cards at different convenience and drug stores, prosecutors argued.
Deputy District Attorney James Teh reported that witnesses were able to recognize Glasby by looking at photo lineups and images from surveillance videos.
