Elderly couple passes away from smoke damage
A wheelchair-bound elderly man and and an elderly woman who passed away in a house fire were reported to have suffered smoke inhalation, the Medical Examiner’s Office reported Wednesday.
Edna Lambert, 83, and Nick Rodriguez, 81, lived in the same house together located on Regal Road near Santa Fe Drive. The fire sparked around 7:30 p.m. Monday and destroyed the single-story home. Officials discovered their bodies later inside the home.
The source of the fire is still to be determined.
