Man stabbed in attempt to catch his own thief
A man tracking down another man who robbed him of his money was stabbed multiple times in City Heights Saturday night. Both men were in a liquor store at 35th Street and University Avenue at 5 p.m. when they began to fight and one of them took cash from the other’s grip, San Diego police reported.
The man took off running and the other came running after him and confronted him, but the robber pulled out a knife and plunged it into the victim’s stomach a number of times, police reported.
The attacker took off running again and was last spotted running south in the alley east of 35th, police stated. He was said to be a black male, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds and bald. He was dressed in a gray, hooded sweatshirt.
The victim was transported to a hospital where he received medical aide and was expected to survive.
