Rape reported at SDSU fraternity

Posted by Christina on May 16 2009 | Rape Report, sexual assault

Police have been informed and are looking into a rape that was reported to have taken place in March in the midst of a fraternity party at San Diego State University.

According to the report, the supposed rape was said to have happened on March 25 at the Kappa Alpha fraternity house located on Hardy Avenue, but police did not hear about the attack until May 6, police Lt. Lamine Secka stated. The claimed victim was a student at SDSU. The case is under investigation by detectives who are talking and questioning people this week; no one has been arrested yet.

Police are not led to think the attack is connected to another sexual assault attack at the same fraternity in November.

Posted by Christina on Apr 01 2009 | sexual assault

While walking to Correia Middle School on Monday, three girls were approached by a man who got out of  his van and attempted to snatch and assault them, a school official reported.

Principal Patricia Ladd wrote a letter that reached each parent on Monday, informing them that the girls escaped without harm and told the office staff what had happened right away.

Ladd’s letter read that the attack took place around 8:10 a.m. while the girls were on their way to school. The man, who was driving a burgundy-colored Ford van, pulled up next to the girls at Famosa Boulevard and Valeta Street. The letter did not go in to detail about what happened in the assault.

According to Ladd, school district police arrived at the school to talk to the girls and record the incident. The girls described the man as a black man in his early 30s, more than 6 feet tall, thin, bald and wearing a black shirt, to San Diego police.
